Reading: Luke 19:10; Philippians 2:3-11

One thing I have noticed lately are the eyes of those the Lord has placed in my path. I have seen desperate eyes that are searching lately. Eyes that are seeking the love of Christ - a love they may or may not be familiar with. Then the other day during my devotional time I came across Luke 19:10 which tells us that Jesus came to seek and save those who are lost. I started thinking about the Son of God being a Seeker. Personally, I know that He searches my heart daily. Since He is my life, I am happy that He does this diligent search to seek out my needs, guide me and strengthen me. But after encountering Luke 19:10 and really thinking about the mission of Christ as a Seeker I started looking at the eyes of people differently. Following Christ's example I started seeking their heart and thinking about how I can possibly bring the message of Christ's love to them.
The Lord then placed Philippians 2:4 in my devotional reading. Opening my eyes to why He is a Seeker and why we should be also. This Scripture tells us to not only look at our own interests, but take an interest in others. The message became very clear to me. The Lord wanted me to be a seeker like Christ. He wanted me to seek the lost and share Christ's love. Every day we by pass people who are desperate for His love. God has put these individuals in our neighborhoods, on our street corners, and in the work parking lot for a reason. Certainly that reason is so we would seek them out and share the love of Christ.
Have you been seeking the lost for Christ? Have you searched for those who need His love and shared His love with them? I hope you will join me in following Christ's example to seek the lost. For it is only when they find Christ that their eyes will sparkle and His love will be seen in their soul.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to be a seeker for those who need Your love. Help me to spread Your love to them. In Christ I pray. Amen.
