Nothing Can Separate

by Kelly Dixon

Reading: Romans 8:28-39

As I continue my walk with the Lord, I become more and more aware of the spiritual warfare the Bible speaks about. Since I committed myself more to the Lord I have been sick at every turn - from colds to chills for unknown reasons to stomach problems. As I write this I am experiencing a cold that has worked its way into my chest and yesterday afternoon I had itching in my hands, last night whelps on my stomach. So I sat wondering what in the world I came in contact with and the more I ruled out things the more I realized that the contact was with the enemy. Satan wants to deter my work for the Lord and he thinks he can do it by making me sick. However, the sicker I get the more I rely on the strength of the Lord to pull me through.

One might feel that when they are sick that the Lord has forgotten them. They may feel like the Lord doesn't care. When in reality He does care and He is allowing Satan to bestow sickness upon us so we can see the depth of how much He loves us. I love the title that my Bible has for Romans 8:28-39 - More than Conquers. This title sums it up for us. As Christians we are more than conquers. When we pull from the strength of Christ we can conquer Satan. Try as Satan may to separate us from the love of Christ, but he never can. For I, like Paul, am convinced that, "neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)

Has the enemy tried to convince you that God has forgotten about you? Do you feel like you have been separated from the love of Christ? Then I want you to know that if you have trusted Jesus as your Saviour, then the Lord loves you dearly and He will not allow anything to separate you from His love. Place your trust in Him and pull your strength from the Source, Jesus Christ. Through Him you can do anything!!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me remember that You have already conquered Satan and if I will pull my strength from You then I can conquer against him also. In Jesus Name. Amen.
